Cambridgeshire Smart Home
This wonderful home was stripped back and impressively extended, but kept close to its roots with careful selection of materials to emphasise its 1930's heritage.
Tasked with delivering a smart home on a budget, Bambridge Lee elected to use the 'Loxone' Smart Home technology system.
Through this system, integration was created between the heating, lighting, music and entry systems.
With a large, beautiful garden, lighting, technology and simple control were important and central to the design brief.
Although at the start of the build the garden was a relative unknown, so provisions were made so that no stone was left unturned when designs were finally submitted.
This included power for filtration systems within a large pond, water features controlled via phone app, garden bar (inclusive of TV and music), summer house, play house, comprehensive garden lighting and automated door entry and gate systems, all encapsulated within a fully roaming wifi network, even at the furthest point in the garden.
Lighting throughout is completely automated, whether that be from the use of discretely positioned presence detectors, timers or darkness sensors. It can be controlled from anywhere in the world, and even whilst you're away, the presence simulation mode will continue to give the impression that you are still in.
This project is still ongoing in a collaboration with our partner AV installers, Audiofile.
Much like our other projects, this home has had a comprehensive makeover, including substantial extensions involving a glass-fronted, canti-levered zinc roofed indoor pool.
The volume of lighting within the property is vast, and is mostly controlled via the Control4 system installed by Audiofile.
The system also controls all TV's, music and blinds within the house. The clever Heatmiser Neo heating control system is also interfaced within Control4.
There is over 600m of linear LED lighting installed throughout, as well as micro-point lighting, down lights, 5A sockets, wall lights, mirror lights etc.
Retirement Home Complex
Bambridge Lee's partnership with McCarthy & Stone has spanned several years now, and this flagship development in Stamford is one of the more impressive looking developments the pair have completed.
